The current federal administration has enacted a number of that have implications for the University of Nevada, Reno, research community and our federal proposals and awards. Please know that the University, Research & Innovation, and Government and Community Engagement teams are aware, alert, and diligently monitoring all federal updates and changes.

Per a recent Executive Order (), all federal awardees have been advised that they must cease award activities related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA). Contact your program officer or program director as soon as possible to seek clarity on your particular award.

If you receive a notice from your funding agency requesting a response relating to your DEIA activities on your current award, follow the University’s process for grant recipients when receiving notices on Executive Orders.

All other activities for federally funded projects should continue as normal unless the sponsor advises otherwise. The terms and conditions of your executed award remain enforceable so long as your award is active. Sponsored Projects will notify you immediately of any changes that affect your funding.

If you do receive a notice from your funding agency to pause or stop your work, then please forward it to SPadmin@unr.edu. A stop work order means that all project activity needs to stop immediately and no expenses can be incurred on the project as of the effective date of the stop work order.

If you have specific questions about your proposal, please communicate with the contact listed on the funding opportunity announcement and copy your pre-award specialist and college grant coordinator. If your contract is currently in negotiation, please reach out to your grants and contracts officer.

If you are currently preparing a proposal for submission, visit the live funding opportunity announcement on the web. Do not rely on a previously generated PDF copy. All deadlines and requirements stated in the FOA remain in effect unless notified otherwise in writing.
